2025 Suzuki DR-Z400S
The 2025 Suzuki DR-Z400S continues its legacy as a reliable and versatile dual-sport motorcycle, equally capable on trails and pavement. For 2025, the bike receives significant technological upgrades, including the introduction of a traction control system and ABS, enhancing rider safety and control. It retains its proven 398cc liquid-cooled engine and robust chassis, making it a dependable choice for both commuting and off-road adventures.
Key Upgrades for 2025
For the first time, the DR-Z400S is equipped with advanced electronic rider aids:
-
Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS): This new system continuously monitors wheel speed and adjusts engine output to prevent rear-wheel spin, providing greater confidence and stability on slippery or loose surfaces.
-
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS): The new ABS helps prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking. Notably, the system allows the rider to switch ABS OFF for both the front and rear wheels, providing more traditional off-road braking control when desired.
Engine and Drivetrain
The heart of the DR-Z400S is its compact and powerful 398cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine. This motor is known for its strong low-rpm torque and crisp throttle response, delivered through a fuel injection system. The bike features an electric starter for convenience, a dry-sump lubrication system for a lower center of gravity, and a smooth-shifting 5-speed constant mesh transmission.
Chassis and Suspension
The motorcycle is built on a strong, lightweight chassis designed for nimble handling.
-
Suspension: It features long-travel, inverted telescopic front forks and a link-type rear suspension, both of which are oil-damped and designed to absorb bumps effectively on and off the road.
-
Brakes & Tires: Powerful front and rear disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, now enhanced by the new ABS. The bike is equipped with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, shod with tube-type tires suitable for dual-purpose riding.
